DXL is the file extension associated with the IBM Domino XML Language (DXL) format. DXL is an XML strictured open standard format used to store Domino rich texts, documents, and databases which are usually stored in a Lotus Notes or a Domino database.
Overview
The DXL file extension is used for a plain text document format, and contains objects found within a .NSF file which is also known as a Lotus Notes Database or a Domino Database file. DXL files are not as efficient for storage as the.NSF file type since they are more of a object description rather than storing the data itself. For this reason, these file types cannot be used to export or move actual Domino databases and must stay on the same Domino server.
