The OBI file extension, associated with Microsoft Outlook, is used for saving RSS (Really Simple Syndication) subscriptions in an Outlook folder. These files act as pointers to an RSS Feed URL and store it separately from the users main subscription file, allowing a user to keep track of their subscription to various blogs or other web content.
