What is IMG file?
The IMG (Macintosh Disk Image) .IMG file extension is a virtual disk image used to hold computer data. Created using the HFSExplorer utility, an IMG file contains information from a physical hard drive or another type of storage device and is stored in a non-OS-specific disk image format. With the IMG format, the data stored in an image is exactly the same as what is stored on the source drive. [ ⏩ ] IMG file extension
What is UIF file?
The UIF (Universal Image Format) is a disc image file format developed by Gracion Software, Inc. It is used to create disc image files that are used for backup and storage of data. The format has been developed to provide a high-quality, secure way of storing data on CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs with standard compression and password protection. The UIF file extension is an acronym for its name, which stands for Universal Image Format Disc Image. [ ⏩ ] UIF file extension

How to convert the file from IMG to UIF?
To successfully convert the IMG file to UIF, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.IMG). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case UIF (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than UIF).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. IMG to UIF. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting IMG files to UIF files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension UIF, while before this step we had the IMG file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new UIF file, or not.
