What is MDS file?
MDS (.MDS) files are media descriptor files that are primarily associated with DAEMON Tools and work in conjunction with other files, such as .MDF, to create a virtual file system that can be used for file and data storage purposes. Such files contain the configuration information necessary for DAEMON Tools to properly mount the associated media descriptor file. [ ⏩ ] MDS file extension
What is UIF file?
The UIF (Universal Image Format) is a disc image file format developed by Gracion Software, Inc. It is used to create disc image files that are used for backup and storage of data. The format has been developed to provide a high-quality, secure way of storing data on CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs with standard compression and password protection. The UIF file extension is an acronym for its name, which stands for Universal Image Format Disc Image. [ ⏩ ] UIF file extension

How to convert the file from MDS to UIF?
To successfully convert the MDS file to UIF, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.MDS). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case UIF (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than UIF).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. MDS to UIF. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting MDS files to UIF files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension UIF, while before this step we had the MDS file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new UIF file, or not.
