The SECURE (Septium Secure Document) file type is a proprietary document format used exclusively by the Septium Core software suite. Created to provide a safe and secure way to store data, the SECURE format leverages industry standard encryption techniques and local storage for document security.
SECURE files can only be accessed through software that recognizes and supports them. By default, Septium Core programs are able to natively handle these files, including Septium Word, Septium Excel, and Septium Access. The SECURE file extension utilizes the ".secure" file naming convention, in order to differentiate itself from legacy document formats such as .doc, .docx, .xls, and .xlsx.
Enhanced Security Features
In addition to strong encryption, SECURE files also offer a number of granular security-focused features. When creating a new SECURE document, users can choose between several different levels of encryption (ranging from "High Encryption" to "Military Grade"), as well as set custom permissions for who can open, view, edit, or print the file. Furthermore, the software suite also includes a variety of tools that helps protect files and prevent unauthorized access.
Similar File Extensions
The SECURE format is often confused with other encrypted file types such as .enc, .aes, and .crypt; however, these are in fact different formats that utilize different methods of encryption. Other popular file types that use the ".secure" file extension include the Septium TeamViewer Secure Connection File ( secureconnection) and the Secure Grouping Files created with the Septium Forms Designer ( securegrouping).
Programs for WINDOWS system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .SECURE) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .SECURE extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .SECURE file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .SECURE extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .SECURE extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .SECURE file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .SECURE file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .SECURE file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .SECURE file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .SECURE file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
