SolidWorks EDrawing Part | SolidWorks Corporation | 3D&CAD Files |
The .EPRT file extension is associated with the SolidWorks EDrawing. This is a 3D model data file created by the popular Computer Aided Design (CAD) program from Dassault Systèmes. EPRT files are used to model parts and assemblies similar to component design programs such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidEdge and PTC Creo.
The .EPRT file contains an interactive three dimensional representation of an item with any associated formats including annotation, dimensions, hidden lines, welds, sketches, views, materials and surface finish. It is used in various engineering application, from product prototype to full production design. When imported into certain software programs such as Fusion 360, Autodesk Inventor, or CATIA, they support multidisciplinary analysis which enables engineers to optimize their designs for better overall performance and shorter cycle times.
Interchangeability
The interchangeability of .EPRT files between different versions of and even between different CAD systems makes them very useful for the analysis and development process of a final design. This is because as different team members work on a design, they can all use the same file regardless of which platform or software they are using. These part files can be translated into other CAD formats such as: .IGES, .STEP, .STL, and even certain image formats like .JPG, making them widely accessible among multiple team members.
Saved States
.EPRT files are optimized for 3D printing but can contain saved states that are used in various different 3D printers. The saved states retain the size, orientation, coloration and other physical attributes of the model within the file itself. Users can set up multiple parts for 3D printing at once since each part contains not only the rendered image but all of the additional information listed above as well.
Programs for WINDOWS system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .EPRT) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .EPRT extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .EPRT file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .EPRT extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .EPRT extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .EPRT file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .EPRT file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .EPRT file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .EPRT file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .EPRT file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
