What is XML file?
XML (XML) is a markup language used for exchanging, storing, and defining data. XML files are plain text files that contain specific instructions and can be read by the MS Windows, macOS, and Linux/Unix operating systems. XML data is easy to use with other software applications for further editing or data manipulation. Because of the universality of XML, it is the native language for messaging protocols, webpages and software programs. [ ⏩ ] XML file extension
What is MIDI file?
The .MIDI file extension is a Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) file. MIDI files contain instructions on how a specific instrument or group of instruments should produce sound. These instructions are defined using data and codes stored in the MIDI file. MIDI files are popularly used in music production due to their low size. In comparison to audio files, such as MP3s, MIDI files are considerably smaller, and require less storage space. [ ⏩ ] MIDI file extension
How to convert the file from XML to MIDI?
To successfully convert the XML file to MIDI, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.XML). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case MIDI (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than MIDI).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. XML to MIDI. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting XML files to MIDI files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension MIDI, while before this step we had the XML file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new MIDI file, or not.
