What is VMDK file?

VMDK (.vmdk) is a virtual machine disk file used by VMware virtualization software. It shares the same format as other virtual disk formats such as those used for VirtualBox and Parallels Desktop virtual machines. What is HDD file?

The HDD (.hdd) file extension is associated with the Parallels Desktop application developed by Parallels, Inc. It is a type of disk image used to create and manage virtual machines, allowing users to run multiple operating systems on the same computer. HDD files contain the entire content of a virtual hard disk, including the guest operating system, its settings, any installed applications, and the data saved on the virtual drive. How to convert the file from VMDK to HDD?

To successfully convert the VMDK file to HDD, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.VMDK). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case HDD (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than HDD).

What is a file conversion?

A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. VMDK to HDD.
