The AEA is the file extension associated with AdWords Editor Archive Files. These files are created by Google Adwords, a web-based advertising application. AdWords Editor is a tool used to manage advertising campaigns for the Google AdWords platform. The AEA file contains a backup of elements of an AdWords account, including campaigns, ad groups, ads and keywords.
