What is TCD file?
TCD (Technobox CAD Drawing) is a file extension used by different CAD programs for files that contain two-dimensional and three-dimensional interactive drawings. TCD is used for displaying technical information, such as engineering schematics, in a visual form. It also includes x,y coordinate and specific layers information. TCD files are usually specific to the software package in which they are created and generally cannot be viewed using any other program. [ ⏩ ] TCD file extension
What is TCW file?
The TCW file extension refers to files saved in the .TCW format. This format is used by various applications developed by IMSI/Design. These drawing files are used with applications such as TurboCAD Pro and TurboCAD Designer, and they include a range of two-dimensional and three-dimensional vector-based drawings, as well as layers and objects. Technical Details TCW files were native to TurboCAD, but they can now be opened with other CAD programs such as CorelCAD. [ ⏩ ] TCW file extension
How to convert the file from TCD to TCW?
To successfully convert the TCD file to TCW, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.TCD). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case TCW (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than TCW).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. TCD to TCW. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting TCD files to TCW files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension TCW, while before this step we had the TCD file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new TCW file, or not.
