What is PRC file?
The .PRC file extension has been around since the early days of eBook standards, first developed in 1999 when ebook readers were first gaining traction. This file extension was originally used by Mobipocket Reader, one of the first competing ebook readers, as well as DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. The AZW file extension is used by the Amazon Kindle ebook reader. It is a proprietary file format with a DRM layer, meaning it can only be read on Kindle devices or tablet and smartphone applications running the Kindle App. AZW files are based on the open-source Mobipocket format and can be created from almost any text document, making them versatile when it comes to other ebook types. How to convert the file from PRC to AZW?
To successfully convert the PRC file to AZW, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.PRC). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case AZW (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than AZW).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. PRC to AZW. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
