The .AMR file extension is associated with the Adaptive Multi-Rate Codec (or AMR) audio file format. The format was developed by the mobile telecommunications industry and is now widely used in both cellular networks and Voice over IP (VoIP) applications. As its name implies, AMR is a multi-rate codec that utilizes a technique known as channel-dependent algorithmic switching to enable variable bit rates from 4.75 up to 12.2 kbps. How to convert the file from AIF to AMR?

To successfully convert the AIF file to AMR, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.AIF). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case AMR (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than AMR).
