The THM ( .THM) file extension is an image file type used by several media editing software programs. THM files are generated by certain image processing applications while creating or editing images, and storing thumbnail images which help applications to quickly access the original file when the user wants to open a particular picture. This type of image file cannot be opened directly but represents a thumbnail which will reference the original image file. It includes an image with reduced dimensions as well as a few other associated metadata such as comments, description, and more.
