The TC (TrueCrypt Volume) file extension is related to the TrueCrypt software, a security encryption program used to create invisible encrypted virtual disks on computers. Files with a.TC extension are disk images which are encrypted using the AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) algorithm, and can only be opened with TrueCrypt. TC files have a default size of 2 Gigabytes, but this can vary depending on the user’s requirements. To use a.TC file, you must have a decryption key.
Security and Technical Details
TC files are one of the most commonly-used encryption techniques as they offer excellent security for data files while still allowing access to the data, usually through a unique username and password.
