ScanVec CASmate Sign Format | ScanVec | Vector Image Files |
The SCV file extension is used by a graphics editing program called ScanVec CASmate, to store vector graphic designs and signs. The design files created with CASmate are typically used in professional engineering, technical drawing, and other specific applications. Commonly used to create signs, banners, symbols, and logos, these designs often combine text and images for maximum efficiency.
The SCV file contains the custom vector graphic design elements. Other applications, such as vector drawing programs, can open and view the content of an SCV file. Compatible software includes CorelDraw, Autodesk Inventor, and IntelliCAD. Other similar file extensions include DWG, DXF, PLT, and CDR.
Creating SCV Files
Designs created in ScanVec CASmate are stored as SCV files. These files contain the vector elements of the graphic design. ScanVec CASmate also saves the font, grade, color, line style of the graphic elements within each graphic sign and symbol. After creating these designs, users cannot easily edit or modify the content of an SCV file. Before editing these files, they must first be converted to compatible file format.
Opening & Viewing SCV Files
These files can be viewed with any compatible vector graphics editing program that can read SCV files. A good example is CorelDraw which can be used to open an SCV and view the vector elements of the design. The program can also be used to export the design into other file formats such as JPEG and PNG for further modifications.
Programs for WINDOWS system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .SCV) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .SCV extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .SCV file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .SCV extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .SCV extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .SCV file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .SCV file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .SCV file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .SCV file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .SCV file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
