RPY (Python script) file extension is a script type used in Python, an interpreted, object-oriented programming language. It consists of source code written in Python that can be run immediately or saved for later use. When saved, the file is given an.rpy extension. A code editor or an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is used to create RPY files that can be executed in the command prompt.
RPY files are also known as Python script files and commonly used as game data files for projects developed with Ren'Py, an open-source visual novel engine. These files are used to create custom visual experiences and control all aspects of the game environment, story arcs and dialog. The compiled RPY executable is usually stored with a.rpa file extension.
