A PFI ( PFI) file is a proprietary file type used in PhotoFiltre Studio. This software is a full-featured image retouching, painting, and drawing application developed by Antonio Da Cruz. It's able to process bitmap, vector, and animated images and provides many color adjust options, more than 100 filters and effects. All image edits are stored in a PFI file allowing undoing of changes without having to save the document as a separate file.
Image Editing Capabilities
PFI files allow users to freely edit images without worrying about losing previous settings or configurations. With an array of color-adjustment tools, cropping, scaling and rotation features, PhotoFiltre enables users to perform basic photo retouching efforts while also providing advanced image-editing capabilities such as support for various brush sizes and shapes, 3D renderings, blending modes, lasso and magic wand tools to quickly select desired areas in an image. It also supports some additional operations like alpha channel editing, supports export of web pages.PSD with layers, and allows conversion of images into other common formats such as JPEG ( JPG), BMP ( BMP) or PNG ( PNG).
Compatibility
PFI files are exclusively created and used by PhotoFiltre Studio on Windows operating systems. There are many other file formats associated with image editing programs such as GIMP ( .XCF) or Adobe Photoshop ( .PSD) which are not compatible with PFI files. However, converting between different formats is doable by exporting photos from one format into another or using individual convertors like PSPViewer for Windows.
Programs for WINDOWS system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .PFI) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .PFI extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .PFI file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .PFI extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .PFI extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .PFI file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .PFI file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .PFI file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .PFI file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .PFI file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
