A PCF ( .pcf) file is a Valve Particle System File, primarily used with the Source® Engine by Valve Corporation. It contains information enclosed in a particle system, storing its type, properties, settings, as well as parameters such as emission rate, location, and speed. The particle system also stores individual particles such as texture name, color data and rotation metadata. The data saved in a PCF file is basically required for Source’s visual effects system to display the desired effects.
