The OXPS file extension stands for Open XML Paper Specification, a page-based document format developed by Microsoft. OXPS documents can be created from any application using the XPS printer driver. OXPS is a proprietary format supported by the Windows 8 operating system and higher versions. It was introduced to replace the XPS format included in Windows Vista and earlier. Contrary to the XPS format, the OXPS format is based on the OpenOffice XML standard.
