OV2, known also as .OV2 file extension, is a points of interest (POI) database used by the very popular satellite navigation system TomTom. It contains important location data information that can be displayed on the device's display. OV2 files are basically plain text files coded using UTF-8 and are typically saved in GPX (GPS Exchange Format) format. Although the TomTom brand name is widely associated with OV2 files due to their popularity, other brands like Garmin also support this file type.
