The MSK ( .MSK) file extension is used by Paint Shop Pro, a raster graphics editing program developed by Corel Corporation. It is the acronym for Mask File. A MSK file contains a selection mask which indicates which parts of a pixmap (a.k.a bitmap, snapshot, or raster graph image) should be affected when an image editing operation is performed.
A selection mask can define opaque areas where no change will occur or transparent ones, where the image editor will ignore them when computing the results of an operation.
