Visual FoxPro Main (DBF) Label Description Format | Microsoft | Data Files |
The LBX (FoxPro Label File) file extension is associated with DBF, which stands for Database File. This file type is used by FoxPro database management programs as a label set file, which contains the text, as well as the size, position and font attributes used to generate labels. It is often used in mail merging applications where personalized letters are generated from a template and printed on mailing labels. The LBX files are exclusive to FoxPro, a database management system developed by Microsoft, and cannot be opened by other programs.
Structure and Features
LBX files are composed of a series of form operations that includes field assignments, control structures, sizing specifications, graphic functions, and more. Each field can be defined as a basic element that includes information regarding attributes such as font size and typeface. Fields are defined as constants in order to make data entry errors less likely. Variable fields allow for greater flexibility when designing labels. Furthermore, label templates can be established so that multiple labels can be created from the same LBX format.
Similar File Extensions
Similar file extensions include PJX, LBW, MW2, DBF, and RTM. These types of files can contain information regarding labels, reports, layouts, and grid-structured data.
Programs for WINDOWS system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .LBX) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .LBX extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .LBX file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .LBX extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .LBX extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .LBX file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .LBX file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .LBX file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .LBX file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .LBX file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
