The KEYSTORE (Java Keytool Key Database) file extension is used by the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to store user security certificates generated with the Keytool utility. This program is required to create self-signed certificates, servers, or clients for secure communication and encrypt/decrypt sensitive data.
