Husqvarna Embroidery Format | Viking | CAD Files |
The HUS file extension stands for Husqvarna Embroidery file. It is a proprietary embroidery file developed and supported by Husqvarna Viking. It contains card format files, typically supporting designs for decorative stitching and can be used with the Husqvarna machines, as well as certain Pfaff embroidery machines.
HUS files are primarily found in two versions: the native version which is limited to 5x7 frame size and is used for smaller embroidery designs; and the PCS version suitable for larger designs (up to 250x250 mm frames). The PCS version of the HUS file also supports certain embroidery features from the active software, such as Satin stitches, borders and lettering, which are not available with the native version.
Features
HUS files support up to 25 colors and are usually generated from a single image file, such as a.JPG,.PNG or.GIF format. In addition, these files allow users to save stitch points that can be manipulated individually using a special software. Some of these manipulation features include stretching, scaling, mirroring and rotating the design. These files are typically packaged with an instruction file (.INF) containing detailed instructions for the machine.
Similar File Extensions
Similar file extensions include .PEG, .LAR, .HXX, .DST, .PEC, .BRO, .SEW, .COL, .XSM, .KSM and .CND.
Programs for WINDOWS system
Programs for MAC system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .HUS) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .HUS extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .HUS file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .HUS extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .HUS extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .HUS file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .HUS file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .HUS file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .HUS file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .HUS file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
