The .ECF file extension is used by the Microsoft Outlook application as an Add-in file type. It is primarily associated with the Exchange Client Extension module which allows the program to support and manage exchange accounts. The file stores user login information and server settings allowing Outlook access to exchange servers.
Functionality
When the .ECF file is imported into Outlook, it will become “available” meaning that it is ready for use.
