The CRC file type is a Total Commander Checksum File created by the popular file management application Total Commander. A CRC file contains checksums generated by the user's computer system using an algorithm and appended to the end of each content file as a fingerprint. CRC is an acronym for Cyclic Redundancy Check, a commonly used method of verifying data integrity.
Checksums are commonly used in computing systems to detect corruption or errors in files when it is transferred from one system to another.
