The .AT3 file extension is associated with the ATRAC3 Audio File. It is a compressed audio format developed by Sony Business and Professional Solutions Group. AT3 audio files are used mainly for audio in games on Playstation Portable (PSP) devices. This format is also known as ATRAC3 plus or ATRAC Advanced Lossless and compresses audio data up to 85%. Technical Details
ATRAC3 files use mostly any version of Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding 3 (ATRAC3) algorithm, which was developed by Sony. They are designed for Sony’s handheld game devices, such as the Playstation Portable (PSP). The .AT3 files support sampling frequencies from 32 to 48 kHz with fixed-rate of 108 kbit/s and variable bit rates (VBR) from 48 to 192 kbit/s. Audio encoded in the AT3 format is packaged inside a .MP4, .AAC, .M4A, or other popular media formats, but it appears as a separate track.
