A00 is the file name extension for a Split Multi-volume ARJ Compressed File Archive. A00 files are apart of the larger type of ARJ archive file created with the WinRaR software program. This type of split file archive, typically denoted with the .arj file extension, is created when the total size of information contained within the archive exceeds the maximum size limit, and it has to be split online into multiple volumes. In such instances, every file created in the split series can be identified by its own extension and sequence index
Usage
To restore or open such a split file, all volumes will need to be present. A00 files are related to similar type of file extensions corresponding to other volume splits, such as .a01, .a02, .a03, etc., up to a99. These volume files can only be opened with software requiring access to all of the related archives, such as compatible unzip applications like 7-Zip and WinZIP, as well as the original archiving application, in this case WinRAR.
