What is TIF file?
TIF (.TIF or TIFF) is an image file format standardized in 1988 by Aldus (Aldus Corporation) and Microsoft (Microsoft Corporation) for storing raster and vector images. It allows images to be individually compressed and they are composed of forms, lines and text. It supports different versions of bitmap, depending on how the image has been encoded and supports RGB, CMYK palettes, Indexed color, and various compression algorithms. [ ⏩ ] TIF file extension
What is MIX file?
A MIX file is an .MIX data file generated by the Microsoft Image Composer (MIC) software. It contains a collage of image components and effects assembled to form a graphic that can be used in presentations, webpages, or documents. The MIX file can also be saved as an individual photo or animation and shared with others. The supported graphics formats include JPEG, BMP, GIF, PICT, TIFF, PhotoCD, and PNG. How to convert the file from TIF to MIX?
To successfully convert the TIF file to MIX, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.TIF). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case MIX (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than MIX).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. TIF to MIX. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting TIF files to MIX files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension MIX, while before this step we had the TIF file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new MIX file, or not.
