What is PMG file?
The Adobe Photoshop Photomerge Panoramic Composition File, or PMG file extension, is a proprietary image format developed by Adobe specifically for their digital imaging and editing software, Adobe Photoshop. PMG files facilitate the creation of complex panoramic images through the use of photos taken from multiple angles and locations. These images are then combined into one cohesive image using the Photoshop Photomerge tool. [ ⏩ ] PMG file extension
What is BMP file?
The .BMP file extension is a raster graphics file type used to store bitmap digital images. Bitmap images are made up of individual pixels – each with its own specific colour value. These images are ideal for high-resolution graphical elements such as logos and line drawings because they can be scaled to any size without losing any of the image's visual fidelity. Due to the large file sizes, BMPs are best used for illustrations or web site graphics that are only displayed at a certain size. [ ⏩ ] BMP file extension
How to convert the file from PMG to BMP?
To successfully convert the PMG file to BMP, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.PMG). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case BMP (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than BMP).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. PMG to BMP. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting PMG files to BMP files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension BMP, while before this step we had the PMG file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new BMP file, or not.
