What is NCO file?
The NCO file extension is associated with the Nero BackItUp software that is used to back up the data stored in a computer. It is a proprietary backup format supported by the Nero BackItUp software for both Windows and Mac OSX operating systems. The format is also used for creating CD/DVD image files. The NCO file type is essentially a backup container that usually contains multiple files, such as text documents, music, pictures, video and applications, along with its associated information. What is DAT file?
The DAT file extension is used by a variety of software programs and utilities for storing data. It typically contains plain text, numeric or binary data which can be read by a wide range of software applications. Generally speaking, DAT files are not specifically tied to any one program, but rather can be created by many programs that allow users to save or send data. For example, personal information exchange files such as Windows Address Book (.wab), Outlook Storage Folder (. [ ⏩ ] DAT file extension
How to convert the file from NCO to DAT?
To successfully convert the NCO file to DAT, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.NCO). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case DAT (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than DAT).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. NCO to DAT. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting NCO files to DAT files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension DAT, while before this step we had the NCO file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new DAT file, or not.
