What is MOV file?
The MOV (MOV) file format is a commonly-used container for digital multimedia on the Apple Macintosh platform. It is based on the QuickTime movie (QuickTime) container format developed by Apple Inc. and standardized in SMPTE's RFC 2326. The MOV format is currently used to store both audio and video data, as well as meta data for interactive applications. The MOV file format can support video up to 8-bits per pixel and audio up to 16-bits per sample. [ ⏩ ] MOV file extension
What is BIK file?
A .BIK file is an encoded media format that is commonly associated with Bink video files. BINK is a proprietary video codec developed by RAD Game Tools, Inc. (RGT), and it is primarily used for the compression and playback of full motion video in computer games. BIK files can contain audio, video, or both and typically include multiple streams of data, such as MPEG-4 or H.264, which are the most common stream types associated with these files. How to convert the file from MOV to BIK?
To successfully convert the MOV file to BIK, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.MOV). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case BIK (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than BIK).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. MOV to BIK. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting MOV files to BIK files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension BIK, while before this step we had the MOV file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new BIK file, or not.
