What is MODEL file?
MODEL (CAT) is a three-dimensional CAD model file developed and created by Dassault Systemes, which is used in various industries including aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. This CAD file can be successfully opened and edited by either CATIA, SolidWorks, HDR Express or the KUBot 3D Viewer. The main purpose of a MODEL file is to store objects in three-dimensional form. What is ASM file?
The ASM file extension is used for an Assembler Source Code file written in Assembler language. This type of file contains instructions written using the assembly language that create a mapping between the instructions set of a particular processor and the operations on the data. It is not meaningful to human readers but it is directly understandable to the processors. ASM files are created for use with the Macro Assembler. [ ⏩ ] ASM file extension
How to convert the file from MODEL to ASM?
To successfully convert the MODEL file to ASM, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.MODEL). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case ASM (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than ASM).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. MODEL to ASM. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting MODEL files to ASM files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension ASM, while before this step we had the MODEL file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new ASM file, or not.
