What is ICM file?
An .ICM file is an image color matching profile created in Microsoft Windows. It stores settings that adjust the colors of pictures displayed on a computer monitor. For example, an ICM file might be used for calibrating a graphics card with proper gamma and color temperature values for its display. ICM files are read by many graphics programs, including Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and GIMP, when they need to accurately load the color settings of an image. [ ⏩ ] ICM file extension
What is SRF file?
SRF is a .SRF image file extension, which is mostly used with Sony Digital Cameras. It is the RAW image format created by Sony cameras. It stores low-resolution pictures that are used by Sony software products to display and easily identify images. SRF files offer higher dynamic range and improved color accuracy in comparison to other formats like JPEG or TIFF. SRF images are unprocessed and uncompressed files which hold all the data with no manipulation involved. [ ⏩ ] SRF file extension
How to convert the file from ICM to SRF?
To successfully convert the ICM file to SRF, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.ICM). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case SRF (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than SRF).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. ICM to SRF. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting ICM files to SRF files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension SRF, while before this step we had the ICM file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new SRF file, or not.
