What is FH8 file?
The FH8 (FreeHand 8 Drawing File) is a vector-based, two-dimensional computer graphics format. It is used to create illustrations and technical diagrams and is native to the Macromedia FreeHand vector graphics software. FH8 files are created using FreeHand version 8 software, and can be opened and edited in versions 10, 11, and MX of the software, although no new features – such as text manipulation or transparent fills – will be added to the FH8 document. This makes changes faster and easier, and provides more flexibility than more traditional raster graphics. Features With FH10, multiple drawing layers can be used to separate images for easy editing. How to convert the file from FH8 to FH10?
To successfully convert the FH8 file to FH10, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.FH8). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case FH10 (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than FH10).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. FH8 to FH10. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting FH8 files to FH10 files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension FH10, while before this step we had the FH8 file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new FH10 file, or not.
