ZIPX is a file format .zipx which was introduced by WinZip, a popular compression and archiving utility supported on Windows, macOS and Linux. It is the successor to the standard .zip format and offers improved support for a number of features.
The ZIPX format was created for files which cannot be stored efficiently with the standard zip format. It allows higher compression levels, better preservation of storage information, larger file sizes up to 16 exabytes, support for many additional archive types, and easier management for extracting files.
Enhanced Compression:
When compared to the classic zip format, ZIPX is able to store data more efficiently thanks to advanced compression algorithms such as Bzip2, PPMd and LZMA. This allows files to be compressed at significantly lower ratios than the traditional zip format, making them much smaller in size and resulting in faster download and upload times. For users who need to work with large files, such as HD video formats, ZIPX can be especially beneficial.
Other Features:
ZIPX also offers the ability to encrypt archives using 256-bit AES encryption (the same encryption used by banks and other organizations to keep data secure). Passwords can also be set in order to protect archives from unauthorized access. In addition, the format allows for the inclusion of digital signatures which can be used for authentication purposes. Other features offered by ZIPX include support for Unicode filenames, automatic splitting of archives into multiple volumes, secure FTP uploads, online sharing, and more.
Similar Formats:
For users seeking similar features but compatibility across a wider range of platforms, other file formats such as .tar.gz, .7z, .rar, and .iso may also be worth investigating.
Programs for MAC system

Programs for Android system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .ZIPX) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .ZIPX extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .ZIPX file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .ZIPX extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .ZIPX extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .ZIPX file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .ZIPX file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .ZIPX file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .ZIPX file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .ZIPX file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
