The XPD ( XPD) file extension belongs to the XML Pipeline Document, which is used by XML pipeline processors. It is a text-based, markup language used to represent pipelines, which include tasks directing data flow and transformations. Every task in the pipeline must have an input, an output, and an operation to transform from one to the other. XPD allows for the combination of separate tasks to form a higher-level pipeline. Features of XPD Files

Surface level attributes specify parameters like description, load balancing setting, etc.
XPD files are commonly associated with XPDL, XPS, and FPSP, which are other XML-based file formats related to document processing systems.
