The SLDDRT (SolidWorks Sheet File) file type is used as a document format native to the SolidWorks design suite software. It is a computer-aided design (CAD) file developed by Dassault Systèmes. A SLDDRT document contains two-dimensional “sheet metal” models, which are typically prepared for forming and manufacturing operations.
File Structure
A SLDDRT document is written in text-based ASCII format, and contains data that describes the geometry, dimensions and properties of the modeled objects. The object data is extensively cross-referenced and organized with accompanying instructions that direct the SolidWorks engine. Additionally, related technical instructions and graphic objects may be enclosed within the file depending on user specifications.
