The SEP file extension is associated with the Maestro Suite, a graphic authoring suite created by Astoundit Software. These are vector-based image files used with the software. Vector graphics, compared to their raster counterparts, remain highly manageable when scaling or editing the image. They are often used for interactive media such as flash animation or interactive websites.
Features:
SEP files contain information about a specific image, including bezier curves, lines, text, and color information. In the native application these can be viewed in a Layers tab, which shows both text and graphical layers, as well as various other elements arranged in a tree structure. With the use of the PostScript language, formed within the document structure, it is possible to reproduce the exact same image even if hardware configuration between speakers varies greatly. It supports additional functions such as Pantone colors, transfers of shadows with optional angles and defined edges and strokes.
The SEP file extension can be considered similar to other vector-based image formats such as WMF, SVG and EPS. In its native environment the SEP file type also has support for specially configured XML extensions which enables integration into dynamic web applications.
