The RPA file extension is associated with the Robot Structural Analysis Professional software, developed by Autodesk as a structural engineering and analysis tool for the AEC industry. The .rpa format is used to save robot projects, including input data (such as computational models and parameters), output data (including numerical and graphical results) and analysis process information. This file type contains all the layout information as well as materials, structural elements and associated properties.
Structure of the File
The .rpa file is created in a proprietary binary format developed for Robot Structural Analysis. It stores project-related data in sections managed by individual source files (.rpo,.rpy,.rpb). Each section includes its own header which contains information such as creation date, project name, project revision. The contents of the individual sections may include any number of text values, numeric values, subsections, and links from one section to another. The format also supports compression.
