The .RCF file extension is a prototype game file format which is used by various Gazerbeam Product products. It stores a role-playing game title which includes all the necessary game data and information such as characters, maps, objects, and settings. This data can be exported to an executable or a Flash application in the form of an RCF file.
Similar to the PYF file extension, the .RCF file extension also holds graphic elements, audio files, and other resource materials which a game developer or programmer needs to compile a working application. It is usually created using the Gazerbeam Manager software which is part of the Gazerbeam tools suite. With this program, users can create new objects, maps and characters and then export them in this particular file format.
File Versions
Depending on the version of the Gazerbeam Product software that was used to create the .RCF file type, the version of the particular file may also differ. The Standard editions of each version of Gazerbeam have different export versions that are compatible with their corresponding .RCF, .DTO, and .ARF files. The Professional editions usually have more features than the Standard Edition and may therefore have additional export formats.
Allowed Modifications
Because this is a proprietary format, it may only be modified with its parent software. It may not be read or manipulated with outside programs that are not part of the original Gazerbeam family. In addition, they cannot be converted into other image formats such as JPEG or PNG unless they are first converted to their source files with the use of Gazerbeam Manager.
