Inside some paragraph include one sentence with list of softwares capable to open or edit this file extesnsion.
PRW ( PRW) is a proprietary, platform-independent shader preview file format. It is used to store three-dimensional material previews created in Artlantis Studio.
PRW files contain reflections, refractions, and transparency data of 3D materials that can be used with other applications such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks Architect, KA-Lite and Softimage|XSI Advanced. The files used by Artlantis Studio are usually opened with the RALF extension which stands for Raster Albedos preview File. The previews stored in PRW files typically have three attributes associated with them: specular, opacity and bump. The PRW file extension can be generated from any of the supported 3D programs listed above.
Also, the Artlantis Render module is capable of exporting both material previews and in-model views from various 3D modeling software into PRW format. The PRW format is compatible with several other file types and application including *.vwx (Vectorworks Architect), *.smx (Softimage|XSI Advanced), *dxf (AutoCAD) and *.epm (K-Lite). This makes it possible to export a material preview from Artist Radio and import it as a material file into another 3D program. Additionally, the PRW format enables the user to view the material previews within both ArtRade and ArtRastor.
Uses in Other Applications
The PRW file extension can also be used with other applications such as Unreal Engine and Autodesk Maya in order to assign a certain surface effect to a particular 3D object. This allows art directors or game developers to create compelling visuals more quickly and easily than ever before. By importing a ready-made PRW file from either Artlantis Studio or other supported 3D programs, they can assign an ideal surface effect immediately. Moreover, the PRW file can be shared among applications such as Adobe Photoshop for further editing.

Software Capable of Opening/Editing PRW Files
Software capable of opening/editing PRW files include Artlantis Studio, Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, KA-Lite, Vectorworks Architect and Softimage|XSI Advanced.
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .PRW) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .PRW extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .PRW file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .PRW extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .PRW extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .PRW file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .PRW file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .PRW file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .PRW file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .PRW file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
