The PHO ( .PHO) file extension is associated with Gerber Photoplot files. These .PHO files are used for creating printed circuit boards (PCB’s) in Cadence Allegro, Tanner EDA, and other Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software programs. Gerber Photoplot files are a type of Postscript file, which contain text with embedded menus for directional formatting, fonts, font sizes, and so on.
Technical Details
A Gerber Photoplot file consists of two different types of commands. The first type define the graphical elements of the PCB, while the second type provide control commands for those elements, such as layer selectors. The graphical elements are separated in “D” codes, which may consist of opaque polygons, lines, arcs, and text.
