The NOTE (Notability for iPad) file extension is used to store notes created with Notability for iPad. It's an app used for taking notes, sketching ideas, annotating documents, recording audio and organizing and sharing information. Notability files are stored in the cloud, allowing users to have access to their work from any device.
NOTEfiles save the handwriting, dictation, sketches, drawings, images and audio recordings that have been made in Notability. The data is stored in a JSON-based format. This provides an advantage over other file formats as it means that the files are platform-independent and can be opened on both Mac and Windows computers, as well as iPads.
