The MTP file extension is part of the MadTracker 2 (Mt2) software package developed by Yannick Delwiche. It is a multi-layered software application tailored towards musicians and producers looking to produce professional-sounding digital music compositions. MTP file extensions are used to store patterns, which are instrumental loops, beats and chords stored in a form which can be modified or adapted by users of the program.
Technical Details
When working with patterns, the main way of editing them within Mt2 is by using a graphical user interface referred to as the pattern editor. The individual patterns are saved as MTP files, which contain all the data related to the pattern and how it should sound when played back.
