FXG (Flash XML Graphics File) is a vector graphic file format developed by Adobe Systems. It is best suited for sharing of graphics between the different components of Adobe Flash Platform. The file format was introduced in 2006 with the release of Adobe Flex 2.0. The file format is based on Flash MX graphic effects, blend modes and filters, and allows for better portability and connection to the Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator.

FXG files can be opened by tools that are compatible with it such as Adobe Flex, Adobe Flash Professional, Adobe AIR, Fireworks CS4, .FLA, or XML editors. FXG files stores graphic data in the form of Extensible Markup Language (XML) tags used to define vector shapes, fills, raster images, gradients, text, strokes, filter effects or blend modes. Furthermore, these files have a layer structure so graphics can be controlled using masks and grouping. Other similar file extensions related to this format are .SWF, and .FLV.
