The ERB file extension is associated with Ruby. ERB is an acronym for Embedded Ruby, an interpreted template system that embeds Ruby code into HTML. This allows web designers to build dynamic websites using static HTML without the need for a fullblown web server side scripting language. Usage

ERB files can be used with web servers such as Apache, Lighttpd and nginx, as well as on standalone applications such as Sinatra and Rails. They can also be used in conjunction with other file formats such as XML and YAML to enable more complex websites.
