The D00 file extension is associated with the VirtualDrive, which is a software used to directly mount CD/DVD images on a computer as virtual CD/DVD drive. It was developed and released by FarStone Technology Inc.
The D00 format is used to save the content of ISO disc images into multiple files with the same base name. For example, if the image is named ‘example’ then the files created will be ‘example.D00’, ‘example.D01’, ‘example.D02’ etc. The first file has the.D00 extension and each consecutive one adds an additional number to it.
