The CSM file extension is used for the .CSM Character Studio Marker File. CSM files are created in 3ds Max, a 3D modelling and animation software from Autodesk. CSM files contain marker information which is used for animation, simulations, games, and special effects in renderings. The markers contain information such as the positions and rotations of specific points on an object.
