ECopy Desktop Scanned Document Format | Autodesk | 3D Image Files |
The CPY (3ds Max Copy Track File) file extension is used by Autodesk 3ds Max, an animation, modeling, and rendering application for creating 3D animations, models, and images. It is a single file type which supports several different kinds of content, including geometry, animation, textures, lights, curves and meshes. The CPY file contains copied tracks from the 3ds Max timeline, allowing users to quickly move a track with its animation data into a different context.
The CPY file format is in the proprietary format of Autodesk 3ds Max, but it is downloadable and can be viewed in a text editor. However, due to the complexity of the syntax and formatting contained within a CPY file, it can only be edited using 3ds Max itself. Other applications that support CPY files include 3D Studio MAX, Adobe After Effects, and CINEMA 4D. Other related file types commonly used with 3ds Max include XSI, MB, ASE, MAX, and MLT.
Uses of CPY File Extension:
The CPY file format is particularly difficult and can be used for more complex 3D Animation projects. The CPY file tracks the frames and entire sections of animation as a discreet element which can then be grouped or looped as needed. For example, when using character animation the CPY file stores each component of the animation such as lip sync, facial expressions and movement as a single track for easy modification. It also allows users to rapidly duplicate sections and leverage them across multiple models or characters.
Programs for WINDOWS system
After installing the required software, the operating system will usually automatically associate an unknown file type (in this case .CPY) with the new application. If this does not happen, we can help the system a bit by selecting the software for it, which it should always use to open files with the .CPY extension.
When choosing the software we can select the system to use this software every time.
Remember!
Using it for the first time it is good to check whether the .CPY file opened in the application can be read by us and opens in a way that allows us to use it. If everything is in order, select this option the next time you open a file with the .CPY extension. However, if the file has not opened correctly, we have to look for a different software, with which we can open files with the .CPY extension. Select a different software from our list and install it on your computer. After the software is installed, repeat inspection openings of a .CPY file. Sometimes you have to repeat the operation several times.
Other instructions
If none of the programs listed by us to work with the .CPY file has not meet your expectations, you can try searching other websites. But remember to avoid downloading programs "that can open any file". These applications not only have very limited functionality, but may also expose you to expense tens of dollars when purchasing a license.
In the vast majority of cases you will find the program dedicated to support the .CPY file, or any other file format. In addition, there is a chance that it will be a free program, and its functionality (concerning the .CPY file) will be extended to the maximum.
It is also good to check
- if the .CPY file has no errors
- or if it has been copied (or downloaded by the browser) thoroughly
